Went for pizza date night. Had a great time. Bonus points for havin Red Collar brew on tap. We had the house special and a hawaiian pizza. The pies were home style and the toppings were much fresh. Our waitress was so nice and I like how they write pizza jokes on the box! Update! Went back, pizza was still good, but the Red Collar on tap was flat and possibly rotten. The server even acknowledged they knew the beer keg system was broken and still served us bad beer. To me this is what one would call neglect. Probably wont be back because of this. Too bad weve always wanted a good pizza place to go with good pints.

Vittorio's downtown was disappointing. Bad pizza! First bad sign was the totally brown cheese pizza that was rotating in the window. Second was the place was empty and when we talked to the waitress about how the business was she said that most of the business comes from the Rocky Mountain Rail tours.. I'm posting this for those poor tourists. We ordered 2 pizzas and a salad - a Kamloops Deluxe and a Mediterranean. The dough was bland, sticky and translucent. Kind of like a tomato pancake because the toppings were watery and it wasn't very hot like you would expect from something commercial. Fresh vegetables combined with crushed tomato sauce that seemed to not be prepared any differently from what you or I could do with some onions, bell peppers and roma tomatoes. Why not have nicely diced veggies or a reduced pizza sauce? The pizzas had so much moisture content that they were not cooked properly. The bottom of the pizzas were not wet; but, the sauce side was soggy and the whole thing chewy. I'm suspicious that the dough was not fresh OR frozen as the sides were torn as if the dough had dried out before being reformed before baking - I can't think of another reason for the dough to be that chewy and bad as well as unpresentable. The pizzas were not very different because they both didn't have many toppings other than the chopped tomatoes and onions, sliced bell peppers, and crushed tomato sauce. Frozen pizzas work better because they compensate toppings for a crappy oven and being frozen - at least they come out golden, hot, and cooked through with the cheese bubbling on top. Why was the oven at Vittorios set to 350? I've had better quality frozen pizza and have enjoyed my own lackluster homemade pizza experiments more. The waitress asked us how it was and we were honest, she talked with the chef and returned to tell us that the pizza is "authentic Italian" and offered us Parmesan cheese and red pepper flake shakers. Could they have put the pizza back in the oven? I'm not sure it could have helped. The salad was very generic kraft? Italian dressing, iceberg lettuce, shredded carrot. Good choice since I didn't finish my 2nd slice. The decor was alright, but they had hockey night on with the satellite speakers playing 80ies music (Genesis?) along side the hockey night music within a couple of feet of each other which was tacky and didn't match the white tablecloth and The Thompson hotel. Brothers birthday turned us all into food critics. It says best pizza in Kamloops on the door.. but I would try 7-eleven or Pizza King within a couple of blocks.

  • The pizza is the more traditional restaurant style, not like the big chain pizza places.
