  The setting was very beautiful, which was probably the only good thing about this place. When we showed up, we were greeted with a "have you been here before"? My friends and I all said "no" but we were obviously excited to be there (this was the third winery we visited that day). Her response was "oh so I guess you aren't a member of our wine club then". To me that seemed obvious since we have not been there before. She continued to say they had a private wine club member event. I was fine to just leave because I realized this did not seem like a "open door...come on in" type winery. However she did proceed us to the tasting room. Which was probably the smallest and worst set up imaginable. She did not tell us anything about the wine, she just started pouring random wines. I then asked her what she was pouring and stated that I preferred red over white and wanted to try more reds. She would also start helping other people in the middle of our tasting. Along with that, their wine was not even impressive and actually quite a low grade wine. It is the type you would expect to see in a liquor store on special for $12.99. The other two wineries in Kamloops are way better, with respect to the quality of wine and customer service.

  My husband I had our first experience at this winery two Christmas' ago when we decided to go to a christmas event that they were putting on. We had a fabulous time! The wine was fantastic! They specialize in their Pinot Noir and it won't disappoint. We have been to many wineries over the years and what we love about Privato is the family feel that it gives off. After meeting the owners, you know a lot of love and dedication have gone into making their wines. That year when we signed up to be wine club members we got a free christmas tree since they also own Woodward Farms. We have been wine members every since and make a few trips out there every year. Their tasting room can get a little bit small when it's busy but its beautiful and they have expanded room towards the back where some of the wine oak barrels are, so that really helps! They host special events throughout the year that we sadly haven't been able to attend due to our busy schedules but hopefully we can in the future! Definitely make this a stop if you are visiting Kamloops!

  Edit- Thank you for your quick response! I understand you're a small winery and that when events are going on it can be difficult to give everyone the deserved attention. Maybe it would have been best to, right off the bat, ask us to come back a different day or explain that you might not be able to give us the best experience on that day. Then we would have been more understanding from the start. The second lady helping us was really sweet and was not rude like the first one, I should have mentioned that in my review initially. It would be nice to come back and take a tour another time as the winery looked beautiful! The fact that you took the time to reach out to all of us means a lot so I would definitely give this winery another chance. I have deleted my original post as I would love to try out this winery again. Your effort to better our experience for next time has not gone unnoticed and I really appreciate that you took the time to reach out.

  It was our first time coming to this winery and I have to say the experience was not that great. We were brought into the tasting room and our service was very slow. We were given a list of wines to choose from and the server didn't ask what we wanted and started pouring wines we weren't interested in trying. The server had shakey hands and spilled wine all over the place. The wines themselves had an average taste that didn't stand out above other wines we've had. The cost of the wine was overpriced for the quality they had. The server also didn't seem knowledgeable on the wines and didn't tell us about them and what they were. Overall we won't be coming back there. The only positive note I would say is that they had a beautiful looking winery and cellar.
